How to convert MP3 to MP4
YouTube, Instagram and TikTok take video, not audio, so a song, a mix or a recording needs a picture before it can be posted. Most "MP3 to MP4" converters pad the audio with a black frame or a stock image on a server. This one makes the video on your machine from the cover and, if you want it, a visualizer that follows the music; the audio never uploads and the file has no watermark.
- Drop the MP3 on the page. It is decoded on your device; the album art inside the file, if any, is picked up as the cover.
- Keep Still for the cover alone, or pick Bars, Halo, Vinyl, Film or Line for a visualizer around it.
- Type the title and the artist, or leave them off. Change the cover if the file had none. Choose 16:9 for YouTube, 9:16 for Reels and TikTok, 1:1 for feeds.
- Choose the whole file (up to ten minutes) or a clip and press Export. The MP4 downloads with the audio as AAC.

Questions
What does the MP4 contain?+
H.264 video at 1080p and your audio as AAC, the pair YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and every phone play. The audio is decoded and encoded again, so an MP3 sounds the same as it went in.
Where does the picture come from?+
From the MP3 itself if it carries album art: the embedded cover is read and used. Otherwise upload any image, or type the title and a typographic cover is made from it. Still shows the cover large on its own blurred color; Bars, Halo, Vinyl and Film keep the cover and add a visualizer around it.
Can the picture stay completely still?+
Still is as close as it gets: the cover holds, the blurred background drifts slowly, the glow behind the cover warms on loud passages, and a thin line at the bottom fills as the file plays. It reads as an album page, not a slideshow. For a picture that reacts to the music, pick one of the other styles.
Why is the MP4 bigger than the MP3?+
Video is more data than audio. A still cover compresses well, so the file stays small for a video, but it will be several times the MP3. That is the format, not a setting.
Does my file get uploaded?+
No. The file is decoded, drawn and encoded in your browser with the WebCodecs API. Nothing leaves your machine, there is no queue and no watermark.
How long can the file be?+
Up to ten minutes per export, at 1080p, free. A longer file, a full album side or a podcast episode, goes out in parts for now: set the start, export ten minutes, set the next start. Pro, which is coming, renders the whole file in one piece on our servers.
Which frame for YouTube, and which for Reels?+
16:9 for YouTube, the whole file. 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, usually a 15, 30 or 60 second clip from the best part. 1:1 for feeds. The frame switch sits beside the player and every style has its own layout for each.
