How VisualizeMy handles your data.
Updated October 29, 2026
VisualizeMy turns audio into motion video, and it was built so that the work happens on your own device. This page explains, in plain language, the little data the site does handle and where it goes. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@visualizemy.com.
The short version
- The tools run in your browser. The audio, images and lyrics you add are processed on your device and never uploaded, and the video you export is made there too.
- Searching a song by name is the exception: your search, and the song you pick, pass through our server to music stores and a lyrics database. We keep no record of who searched for what.
- If you ask for a custom scene slot, or ask to be told when Pro opens, we keep your email address for that one email. Those are the only two forms on the site.
- No accounts, no cookies, no ads. One cookieless analytics script from our host counts page views in aggregate, and the tools count exports: one line per export saying which tool, style and frame, how long the clip was and whether it finished. No file, no address, nothing that identifies you.
Your files
When you drop a file into the music visualizer, the lyric video maker, the audio to video tool or the Spotify Canvas maker, your browser decodes it, analyzes it and renders the video with its own video encoder (the WebCodecs API). The MP4 is assembled in your browser and saved straight to your device. We never receive the audio, the cover, the lyrics you paste or the finished video, and what you type into a tool is gone when you close the page. The Spotify visualizer listens to a tab or screen you share, or to the microphone, only while you have it on: the sound is measured in the page to draw the picture and is never recorded, stored or sent.
Searching a song by name
Two tools can start from a song's name instead of a file. When you use that search:
- The words you type go to our server, which asks Apple's iTunes Search for matches and, if that fails, Deezer's. The small covers in the result list load straight from Apple's or Deezer's image servers, so those companies receive an ordinary image request from your browser.
- When you pick a song, our server fetches its 30 second store preview and its cover art and passes them to your browser. The lyric video maker also asks LRCLIB, a public lyrics database, for timed lyrics, sending the song's title, artist and length.
- To stay fast and avoid hammering those services, our server keeps their answers in its cache: searches for an hour, previews, covers and lyrics for a day. The cache is keyed by the song or the search words, not by you, and holds nothing about who asked.
The previews, covers and lyrics belong to their owners. The terms say what that means for a video you publish.
The "Request a slot" form for custom scenes and the "Notify me when Pro opens" form, both on the home page, collect your email address. We store it with our host, Cloudflare, together with what you asked for, the time, and your browser's user agent string (the line that names the browser and system), and we use it only to tell you when custom scenes or Pro open and to talk about your video if you reply. We do not add you to a newsletter, and we never sell or share the address. Write to hello@visualizemy.com and we will delete it. If we move the list to an email service later, we will name the service here before we do.
Cookies, analytics and ads
The site sets no cookies and runs no advertising scripts. Our host, Cloudflare, adds its Web Analytics script to each page. It sets no cookies and does not fingerprint or follow you across sites; it reports the page you loaded, the page that linked to it, your browser and device type, your country, and how fast the page loaded, and we only ever see those as totals. Cloudflare also gives us aggregate counts of requests, such as how often an API route is hit, which identify no one. If we ever add another analytics or ad measurement tag, for example to measure an ad campaign, this page will say so, with the date updated, before it goes live.
The tools also count exports. When you start, finish or cancel an export, or when an export fails, or when you download a waveform image, or when a tap tempo reading reaches eight taps or the BPM finder reads a song, or the MP3 tag editor saves a file, or the album cover maker downloads a cover, or the audio joiner saves a joined file, or the audio looper saves a loop, or the audio trimmer saves a trimmed file, or the audio speed changer, the bass booster or the volume booster saves a file, or the audio converter converts one, or the audio reverser saves a file, or the sound test plays a test, or the tone generator saves a tone, or the key detector reads a song, or the metronome is first started on a visit or saves a click track, or the Spotify visualizer starts listening (to a shared tab, the microphone, the sample or a file) or goes full screen, your browser sends our server one line: the page, the style, the frame, the length of the clip, the outcome (with the error message if it failed) and the country Cloudflare reads from the request. The line carries no IP address, no file, no cookie and no identifier of any kind; it is stored as a count in Cloudflare's analytics store for three months, and we read it only as totals, to see which tools and styles get used and whether exports fail.
The services we rely on
- Cloudflare hosts the site, runs our server code and stores the email list. Like any host, it keeps standard, short-lived traffic logs for security and operations.
- Google serves the site's fonts, so your browser requests the font files from Google's servers.
- Apple (iTunes Search) and Deezer answer song searches and supply previews and cover art, only when you search a song by name.
- LRCLIB supplies timed lyrics, only when the lyric video maker looks a song up.
Retention
There are no accounts and no database of visitors or files, so for most visitors there is nothing to keep. Cached search answers expire within a day. Email addresses stay until you ask us to delete them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example in the EU or the UK under the GDPR or in California under the CCPA, you may have formal rights to access or delete personal data held about you. With us, that data is your email address, if you gave it. Write to hello@visualizemy.com and we will handle it.
Children
VisualizeMy is a general audience site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; the one thing we collect, an email address, takes a deliberate signup.
Changes
If what the site does with data changes, for example when a new feature needs new data, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change goes live.
